Every Tuesday May - end of August

The Umbrella Competition is open to all club members and provides the opportunity for new bowlers to meet fellow members and enjoy a friendly game. Players need to register by 9.45 a.m. on the day of play.

Fee

£1.00. Fees go towards the prize at the end of the season.

Play

Teams will be picked randomly and players can arrange their position within the team. The number of players in a team will depend on how many people come along to play. Each team will have 8 Bowls.

• 2 players - 4 woods each

• 3 players - 3 woods each for lead & second, 2 woods for skip

• 4 players - 2 woods each

Toss of the coin to decide which team starts.

Each game will be 14 Ends.

One scorecard per rink.

Scores will be recorded weekly and the player's best 6 scores over the course of the season will count towards the final result.

Scoring 

• 1 point for each end won PLUS

• 2 points for a win up to 3 shots

• 3 points for a win up to 6 shots

• 4 points for a win up to 8 shots

• 5 points for a win up to 10 shots

• 6 points for a win over 10 shots
